What Should I Have Said?

Over the past several weeks, my wife has been home to take receipt of small packages addressed to me. Inside these packages- fountain pens.

So yesterday, my wife asked me, "Are you collecting fountain pens?"
My response, "How do you define collecting? I did purchase a few pens."

How should I have answered my wife? Your responses are greatly appreciated.

It's just a theory currently. Not married yet, me and fiancee still live separately. I'm hoping you can try it out and let me know how it goes for future reference

You can also tell her you're doing your part to support small American businesses in these troubled economic times. Definitely have things delivered to your work, if possible.

I'm lucky in that my girlfriend is more or less fine with my fountain pens, mountain bikes, and outdoor gear. She goes hiking and camping though, will go mountain biking occasionally, and used a fountain pen for years. She even owns a few fountain pens (Sheaffer Intrigue, Waterman Phileas, Waterman Laureat, and Parker Vector) but never uses them. She may start back now that she's seen the colorful inks I bought recently.
