What should I get?

My birthday is next month and I've had my eye on the following items:

1) EJ Best Badger Brush

2a) Tabac Soap
2b) Tabac ASB

3a) TOBS Avocado
3b) TOBS Mr Taylor ASB

I can only reasonably request one of the three for my birthday. Given I currently shave with a VDH boar brush and either Proraso, RSC, or VDH, which would you choose?

Sound like you already use some good soaps and creams so if you are unhappy with your boar brush or tempted to try badger go for the EJ best badger brush - it is the ultimate beginner badger brush

If not, you can't go wrong with Tabac and/or TOBS Avocado in my book.

I would agree, with the brush. I think you will get more enjoyment mileage from the brush than a new soap, especially since you have only used boar up till now. Plus, you don't wanna blow a birthday wish on Tabac!

A good brush does make a lot of difference. That said, you could also get a less expensive badger and either the TOBS cream or Tabac soap. It all depends on what you really want next. Making a compromise on the brush to get more creams/soaps is not a bad idea but if you really want the best experience possible stick with the creams/soaps you have and go witht he brush.

I'm putting in my official birthday request for the EJ brush (medium best), and then some Tabac as a bonus.

Today I'm going to try to pick up some Kent/Mitchell's Wool Fat and Baxter's Balm locally before I head out of town for the weekend. The TOBS will have to wait...
