What's new

What kind of razor is this?

I found an old razor, but i can't seem to find out what kind it is. I've been working under the assumption that it is a gillette of some sorts, as i can see a contour of trademark diamond (or whatever it's called) on the very worn underside of the razor. It also says made in england on the underside, on the top it says patent pending.

Sorry, something went wrong with my picture uploads, should be fixed now. Will check out your site, thanks.

Welcome, kjellkjell!
I can't see the underside of the head to identify its "baseplate", but it would appear you have either a #16 or #66/#22 Gillette British Aristocrat. Both very fine razors and great shavers! :thumbup1:

It's either a #16 or a #22/66 ( different case ) British Aristocrat.

If where the blade goes base is completely flat it's a #16 , if there's a diamond in there it's a #22/66

Rhodium plated :001_smile

#16 and #22 from Achims fantastic site :001_smile

Thanks for the help guys. I tried to take a photo of the underside of the plate, but it's so worn that the Made in England and the diamond can only be seen in certain angles, so it's hard to photograph. From the photos at mr-razor's site the razor looks like the #22. I'll look at the different cleaning guides, hopefully it will clean up nicely.

Again, thanks for the help.
