What is Your Cream?

Morning gents. I'm just wondering what everybody's go-to shaving cream is and why you like it. I'm still trying to find one I really enjoy (just picked up a tube of Bigelow Proraso yesterday) but so far I like the latherability of AoS, the smell of T&H Grafton, and the efficiency of Proraso green. I'm really hoping that this proraso does the trick.

If we are talking about straight creams and not croaps, then AOS and The Body Shop Maca Root Shave Cream are my favorites. Kiss My Face is good, too.

I am TOBS guy as well as a Proraso Green fan. Started my wet shaving career off with Proraso, and still probably gets more consistent use than any other cream I own.

I recently became hooked on Cremo. Bought it at Walmart because it was cheap and I, like everyone here, like to try new things. It's meant to be used as a brushless cream, but I use a brush to whip it up. I put a small dab in the palm, mix it up with the brush, and it lathers up nicely, though a little thin if too much water is used. The stuff is super slick and since I started using it, I no longer get nicks or weepers and can achieve a BBS with almost every shave. Best thing is that it does'nt dry out my skin like most soaps and many creams do. I started using Creamo face wash and that does a nice job too.

The standards for me are TOBS Mr. Taylor and Proraso Green. I have pledged to keep one artisan cream in my nook: For the summer I currently have Queen Charlotte's Iced Key Lime. When that is gone, I will give another artisan cream a go for the Winter.

I was looking for samples the other week and saw Queen Charlotte but didn't pick up any samples since I hadn't heard anything about them. What are your thoughts?

Panhaligon's. Incredible performance and scents. Buy it on sale.

Spencer and Devon. Great performance, almost as good as Pen's. The spice scent is nice, I have not tried sagebrush. Great value. Big tub and a little goes a long way.

I went to Queen Charlotte's for only one reason. The claim that the Vostok and Iced Key Lime are possibly two of the coldest, most refreshing shave creams out on the market. As a result of that claim, opted for the Iced Key Lime for summer shaving and I must say that I am very impressed with not only the extreme cold that it leaves on the face and neck but, the excellent lather and cushion it provides.

I have not tried any of their other products but, I do love the Iced Key Lime.

Castle Forbes Lavender. Great scent, although not too strong. Very economical as a little goes a long way. Great lather - and quick. Face feel afterward is excellent. The Lime is also nice.

Ultimate Comfort is my #2.

Trumpers rose, very slick and reminds me of gardening with my Grand dad when I was a child.
I'm currently waiting for T&H Trafalgar as I need a more manly scent than roses but I could think of worse things to smell of :wink2:

Love QCS, but I consider them more of a "croap" than a true cream. My favorite cream is Real Shaving Company Moisturizing cream, although that is now discontinued (not sure how the new cream performs). Right behind it is Body Shop Maca Root, which is made by the same company so it's not surprising their performance is similar. This time of year I also enjoy the menthol in Headslick (which is pretty much unscented).

I've found Kiss My Face creams to be good, although I like them better as part of a superlather with Van der Hagen Luxury unscented soap.

For me, Proraso green (Bigelow) is just okay. To get great performance out of it, I superlather with Palmolive shave soap.

+1. It's very slick and seems protective enough even after repeated passes - with just using. a wet hand
