What would be the best polish for cleaning blades that have a drawing on the blade. I want to give mine some new shine but don't want the etching to fade away.
If you are using a tool to polish you can use a detail polishing attachment and polish around the gold-wash. That is what I do for my customers and then I use something that has little abrasive quality like toothpaste, or autosol on a soft cloth to polish, I keep checking the wash to make sure it isn't being worn away while I clean. Something important to note is how easy it is to remove that wash (it's very, very easy).
Well, you can cover up the etch with electrical tape. Remember the metal right around the etch wont be as shiny. You cant really polish the wash, it'll come right off.
