What have I bought here?

It's got the 'modern' gillette logo on the head, as opposed to the diamond logo. Printed on the top of the middle section is 'made in england'. No serial numbers.

If the handle is correct, it's bakelite (technically plastic, yes). And it does appear to be a Tech head. But, IIRC, that handle came with a gold head, not a silver one. So, I think it's a mismatch, but not a bad one. It should shave quite nicely, if a bit mild.

yes it could be the head taken from a travel british tech or just a regular british tech.

I would guess it is a 3 Piece Tech from the 40s or 50s.

Looks like a Travel Tech head to me. I have a 1974 Travel Tech head and it's identical except mine was made in the US. Actually got it off a member from these boards. It's got the same super thin bottom plate and overall lighter construction than the "regular" Techs. Still a very nice razor.

Technically it's just "Lah-mm"......."lah-may" would be written lamé.
