What exactly is Shaving Butter

I was in my local Target store last weekend and saw that they were selling a shaving product called shaving butter or shave butter.

Does anyone know what it is and have any info on it ?

We keep extra butter in the freezer. If we run out of our "daily" butter and need to pull a stick from the freezer, that's when we resort to "shaving butter"!

Oh my, I spoke too soon - Shave Butter does exist, and it's even been reviewed!

Seems the Osmotics version been discontinued by the manufacturer.

From personal experience, I can tell you that some people are allergic to emu oil (which, yes, is made from real emus). After an use or two or three, if you get a nice burning rash, you're one of the lucky ones.

At first I thought the reaction was that you begin to look and act like an emu, but a burning rash or other things are not good either !

Amazing the crap you can find which masquerades as shaving products at a Target store. They are beginning to make Wal-Mart look good.

That's why I use ostrich oil exclusively.

I would guess it's a marketing ploy and it's just shaving cream that's thicker or even solid. much like a body butter. they didn't even bother to put real butters in it (which might clog up your razor if you were using multi-blades.)
