What's new

what exactly have I got here......

Hi,

I recently picked this up in a lot from ebay. My first thought was that it was a flair tip superspeed from the 50's, however I'm noticing some differences there.

Firstly, it doesnt have a date code in the places that other ones I have seen and seen photo's of do. It does have "11" stamped into the diamond next to the handle.

It is made in England, with patent number 694093.

The ends of the head (where the doors pivot) are shaped differently than Assylum Guido's excellent superspeed identification guide over on TSD

Handle is a bit different to the tv special, but the head and patent number appear the same.

Thoughts?

I think its a 58 British TV. I've got one and looking for a case.

Thanks for the input, however I dont think it can be, as look at the knurling on the last pic of mine, and then the tv special. Mine has an extra horizontal groove.

"I" is light (Blue Tip)
"II" is medium (Regular Flare Tip) - but I´ve seen flare tips without "II"
"III" is heavy (Red Tip)
