What do we think about Invicta watches?

Whwat do you think about Invicta watches ( particularly their diver and chronograph watches). I know their MSRP is grossly exaggerated, but wonder what you think of their quality/design, besides that?

I'd pass on any Invicta watch. The quality is not very good. Look at something made by Panerai, Omega, Tudor or Rolex.

You're comparing apples and oranges. Invictas are generally affordable, while all the brands you mentioned are $2000+. If he had that kind of money to throw around for watches, he probably wouldn't be looking at Invicta.

I own an Invicta, and while it's not bad, I find Orient and Seiko have much better quality at the same price point.

Ditto what Fixxer said.
I have one Invicta diver and it's fine for a quartz watch. If you decide to purchase an Invicta, be sure to shop around. The prices vary widely. Check the daily deal sites too. Invicta's have to hold the record for the most frequently discounted watch around.

I have been enjoying my 8926c for 2 weeks now and I love it. Good bracelet, looks awesome, weak magnifier (can be removed with a simple hack), keeps accurate time, wouldn't exactly use it a as a diver (only ISO 2281 tested, not ISO 6425) but for the money I payed, I'm very glad I bought it. I think it was 80$, you can find them even cheaper around 60$.

They are fine for what they are. The automatics generally use the Myota (Citizen) 82xx movement...generally thought of as a bulletproof movement. The regulation can vary widely, but you can usually figure it to be better than +/- 30 sec's a day. I know it sounds like a lot, but we are talking an inexpensive automatic here and most are more accurate. The quartz are...quartz....accurate. They make nice and varied styles...more so than say Seiko. They seem to make nice dials.

The biggest caveat for Invicta watches is their customer service. Really poor. If you get a problem watch, and it happens with middling frequency, getting it repaired/replaced by the factory is a painful, sometimes fruitless process.

So know them for what they are.....inexpensive nicely styled watches with middle of the road QA. Bad after sales service.....but again inexpensive and smartly styled.

All that being said, I have owned a few and would buy another, but don't expect Panerai/rolex quality!

By the way, they do also have models with Swiss automatics as well. Most of these use the Sellita movement which by most accounts is a good movement.

ive owned 3 so far no problems id say shop around price wise and try one out 100-150 range you cant go wrong i have the blue face submarinar great looking watch i paid 97.00 delivere from ebay dealer

Most of their watches are a collection of parts sourced in the far east and assembled in their factory in Panama. Their customer service is non existant. However you get what you pay for and for the price many of their watches are hard to beat. They have a line of Swiss watches which are really quality pieces but of course at the higher prices there is more competition.

In general there are better choices out there.

Last year I was looking at Invicta but settled for a Victorinox. I'm very happy with my choice. Not that I was not tempted to buy one.

invicta basicly has 3 grades of wathces,
quartz usualy moved by basic citizen movements,
citizen automatics usualy miyota 8215, its an ok movement,
and then swiss automatics with low grade 2824-2 movements, the main problem with invicta is that the finish quality on the cases is meh and that they tend to "borrow" alot of designs from other brands,

buying a citizen, a seiko or an orient directly will get you better quality at a similar price

Picked up an 8926 in December, and wear it ~5 days a week (between taking it off at night and rotating other watches as the occasion requires). Took a good 2 months to settle in, but now it's about 1min a week fast.

Think I paid ~$70 on amazon in December before shipping, ad have suggested it a few times.

Actually it's more like 5 grades. In addition to the ones mentioned they also make these gaudy jewelry watches that often sell for a few thousand and they also have a Reserve Line. I had a reserve Swiss Diver and I'll tell you it had a COSC mvmt and it was a Rolex Seadweller knockoff but if you blocked the names on both and put them next to each other and asked someone to pick the Rolex they would probably pick the Invicta. It was that good.

I've owned a couple, quality seemed fine for the price. In the end, it was the small details that I didn't like, bit too garish for me. I'd recommend the Seiko autos, vintage if you like to tinker.

I find the quality to be excellent. A heck of a lot better than what most people consider "High End" Watches.

If you like it, and it keeps good time (as all mine do) then it's the right watch for you. Who cares what the others think!
