Well a good restorer will sand and polish the spines, You can call em heavy grinds. Lol. Hone with 20 layers of tape, tiny bevel! Lol. I havent photographed any but ive seen some doosies as Im sure we all have.

I am really digging the soap scum buildup. Looks to me like they were rode hard, and put up wet.

I don't always hone my razors...but when I do I use a big round cobble stone.

This brings up an interesting point for me. When I first started honing, I bought a handful of razors in not much better shape "to learn on". In retrospect, I think a lot of the early frustration with learning to hone came from whacked out hone wear and frowny blades. I can remember the first few really decent blades I honed thinking "wow, this came out much nicer than before". I think a lot of guys get discouraged trying to get a NOS razor edge out of one of these "Rare-Vintage" beauties.
