#14 in 2024 GRUYERE shave sebaticle

Date: 02.01.24

Days growth: 4

Head and face shave

Razor: Gillette fatboy

Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)

Brush: Parker chrome handle pure badger

Pre-shave: Hot shower using Johnson and Johnson on face and head with facial scrubber

Lather: Ethos dragonsbeard

Passes: 2 plus pickups

Post Shave Routine and products:

1 - Hot rinse with microfiber towel X2

2 - Cold rinse

3 - Alum block

4 - Cold rinse with microfiber towel X1

5 - Aftershave: Clubman Lustray Coachman

6 - Balm: Proraso blue

Notes: Today’s shave was great! This was my first shave with a Bic Chrome Platinum and I really liked it. It was very smooth and on the sharper end. Does anyone know where they fall on the sharpness scale? The Ethos soap never disappoints. It’s been a while since I used the Parker pure badger. I really liked it today! It’s scrubby but not scritchy. The only problem I had was shaving off one pretty good sized pimple, it hurt and took a chunk of skin! Thankfully it didn’t bleed a lot.

Glad to hear you like the Bic Chrome Platinum blades. I began using them 01 Jan 23, and they have not disappointed me. They are also quite durable; I am on #44 of 100, with 56 more to be used.

Comments: A hot shower, f/b a long Cube 2.0 soak-in, and warm BAWR lather, yielded today’s acceptable shave. With heavy rain storms coming overnight, I should be able to harvest more rain water for prep and shave lathering.

One of those shaves that leaves you in amazement. Dolphin smooth, not a whisker in sight nor a sea lion and without a hint of irritation. Wow this is the way it is supposed to be.
