I haven't been posting but I have still been shaving. My shaves have gotten very bland as far as equipment as of the last couple weeks. I use 1 of 2 razors, 1 of 2 blades and the results have been fantastic. My biggest issue is picking a scent. As I typically use Stirling Sheep soap or Arko. Unscented Stirling splash.

The thing is I have been getting GREAT shaves. I haven't been doing a clean up passes. I feel like I have found my "happy" spot so I have stayed in that area. I will venture out of it again as I get bored but right now it's where I am at.

An example of today's shave below.

9.3/10

Spashed hot water on face, lathered Pre de Provence with a Kent BK4, took three passes with a Crystal (6) in a Feather AS-D2, showered, and splashed on 4711 cologne. The Kent lathers quite differently than yesterday's Simpson T2 synthetic, more frothy, less slick, but by the third pass it was just right. BBS, very comfortable, 9.5/10 because the first two latherings were good but not perfect.

Pre Shave: Warm shower, Stirling Unscented Pre Shave Soap Face Wash, Crown Pre Shave Gel
Razor: Parker Adjustable Injector on 3.5
Blade: Schick "Chick" Injector
Brush: Zenith 506A Manchurian
Soap: Stirling Executive Man
Post Shave: Stypic Pencil, Cold water rinse, Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm, Proraso Red AS
Rating: 9.25/10 Descent two pass BBS shave, minimal buffing on chin. Five weepers, minimal irritation and no cuts. An efficient shave, but didn't work as well as I thought it would. Moved down to 3.5 and although efficient, not happy with the weepers and irritation. Tomorrow moving back to the original blades that came with the Parker. While not as sharp, they are smoother.

Razor: Razorock Game changer .84- Mfg 2018> great mid range combined with a Kai seems to work well in this razor.
Blade: Kai SS (6) sharp & smooth, good longevity, wider than a standard blade, good way to increase blade feel or exposure.
Soap: test sample of TOBS Jermyn, real mild scent but great creamy lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Lucky dice 26mm Tuxedo knot, excellent lather creator with cloud like soft tips and with some back bone for a scrub.
Pre shave: Brush wash my whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanse + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Nivea refreshing AS + witch Hazel + a dollop of Nivea.
Results: 8.5/10 or CCS,DFS,BbS + minor irritation + 2 small weepers= great shave with my RR GC .84 with a Kai blade.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly -

The Good
BBS
Soap scent - wonderful
Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli aftershave - Mind blowing, fabulous, Wow...long lasting
New Dscosmetic SHD badger. I love dense SHD knots!

The Bad
Soap lathering! I cannot get this soap dialled in. I was hoping to finally get this soap figured out on this shave but failed. I’ve tried it with more water, less water...every which way. I’ll have a bowl of beautiful creamy lather created, but after I apply it to my face it almost completely disappears in minutes. I slap on more...disappears! I’ve about given up on this soap. Although even though it looks like I’m shaving bare skin, I seem to be getting a smooth BBS. It must have something to do with the water lily base.

The Ugly
Me! This soap has gotten me so frustrated that I couldn’t enjoy my shave. I couldn’t enjoy the scent. I couldn’t concentrate on the feel of my new brush. It’s as though it’s laughing at me, telling me I shave like a girl, pushing all my buttons. Grrrr.

Keep your powder dry
