You may have guessed it, another fantastic shave with the Vector and Pro Guard blade. Glass like BBS with no blood or irritation. SoCal Hipster has a horrible label but oh boy does it smell incredible.

I haven’t been in my Save Studio for a couple of months of days due to some illness. Today I decided that I would have some leisurely time mixing it up a bit. Using some different techniques for lathering and generally experimenting a little with soaps and brushes. I know why I love this hobby after spending the best part of the morning enjoying myself. A nice shave both head and face with pleasing results. Happy Shaves wherever you may be

Awesome sweet tobaccoist scent from the soap. The lather was creamy and slick too...one of my favorite for sure!
SR adventures continue with this excellent razor! Enjoyed the nice smooth pasted balsa edge in 3passes without any issues for a dfs/ccs result. Matching aftershaves were awesome as well! Rating 9.6/10

Razor: 1975 Soviet adjustable anniversary edition / Chinese shavette
Blade: Dorco 300 st (1)
Soap: Cella
Aftershave: Zingari man - the navigator

Started with the shavette on 1 cheek which went surprisingly well. Then ended up cutting my neck so I switched to the vintage de razor.

Result is very smooth but some irritation, probably due to the shavette.

My little girl joined in, lathering her pretty face with my brush and foamy cella and did some passes with her grandpa's bladeless Gillette slim twist.
Result is and always has been cute and smooth. ❤️

Sunday morning.

Vintage Crown Razor Co. (Boston, Mass) "Extra Hollow Ground Fully Warranted" 5/8 round point straight razor
Nom "Carl" synthetic brush
Stirling "Evergreen Forest" soap
Vintage (1980s) Pierre Cardin aftershave

Nice smooth shave from the Crown. Must have been half asleep this morning as I didn't get as tight under the nose as usual, but that's not the razor's fault. Not worth going in again - just an annoying little clump under the nostrils. I'll get them tomorrow.

Evergreen Forest works well with the synthetic brush, and smells like a... well, you know. Would have worked well with M&S Woodspice green for the aftershave, but I've set myself something of a Sunday tradition for stuff from before this century when I have it.

I'll call it an "8", but it's me that dropped points and not the kit.

[P.S. @RenoRichard - Had a 10019 show up in the post this week - it's sitting on the table next to my computer grinning at me. Haven't got it wet yet, but it's good to hear it does well.]

Cold water prep
Grooming Dept pre shave, original formula
Vintage Yardley soap and After Shaving Lotion
Omega Pro boar
Timeless 0.68
Gillette silver blue, #2
Wholly Kaw bare naked toner

10/10

The preshave and Yardley make a superlative lather.

Razor Merkur HD 34C
Blade :KAI (1)
Brush: Razorock Synthetic Badger, 22mm

Lather: Palmolive Classic Shave Cream (green),
Proraso Green Shaving Soap

Post: Thayer's Cucumber Witch Hazel,
Proraso Green After Shave Splash

I smeared a few small dabs of Palmolive Shave Cream on the chin area and cheeks, loaded the brush from the puck, dipped the brush tip in warm water face lathered. The scent of both is eucalyptus. It was [emoji172].Together they built a voluminous, thick and slick super lather almost instantly. Along with a new KAI in the reliable Merkur 34C I got a great BBS with nary a nick or weeper and no razor burn.

I'm glad you are better enough to get back in the studio. Be well. Thanks for the artistry.

Razor: GEM Damaskene

Brush: Omega 20107 Pro Boar
Cream: Captain’s Choice Land Ho!
Lather: Bowl
Post: Thayers WH Aloe
Aftershave: Gillette Cool Wave

The Shave: WTG/ATG and XTG goatee touch up. I’m really enjoying the Captain’s Choice shaving creams. I always use a bowl when lathering the CC creams and the scents fill the air and I end up with beautiful slick lather.
The Omega 20107 is going to be great when fully broken in, it’s already making nice lather and feels soft on the face.
The GEM Damaskene did great; smooth, efficient, and maneuverable.
I finished my shave with Gillette Cool Wave.
No irritation, weepers, or leftover whiskers…10/10.

Beautiful shave today. Had a lot on my mind, especially Kim Gray and those dealing with cancer. I am a health care worker and see death from time to time. I hope everybody stays safe and healthy.

Today is my 1st Anniversary of Traditional Shaving with 350 shaves in the past year.
I selected preferred equipment to mark the occasion:
View attachment 1334208

Brush: PAA Green Ray
Lather: Stirling Havercherry
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Green (1)
Razor: Blackbird
Post: Thayer's and Pinaud Clubman

Fantastic shave today, I really nailed it. BBS- results with a few weepers that vanished in the final rinse. The Havercherry soap blend provided ideal mentholation, which combined with minimal feedback from the Clubman splash, was just right. I am just starting to explore steeper angles with the Blackbird and am pleasantly surprised at the post-shave results: zero irritation or sensitivity. This has to be a 10/10 again.

Well, I didn't save any money this year, but at least I'm not spending it on carts anymore! Here's to many more years to come. Thanks B&B.
Congrats.
