What Combo was your best shave ?

Badger and Blade Brothers and Sisters,

Please list the combination of stuff that gave you your best shave ever.

I just surprised the hell out of myself and had the best shave of my very short shaving career. I wasn't even thinking about my shave...just needed to be done. I didn't even feel the hair being cut...nothing. Just wild.

Mine was a strange combo indeed. Gillette Black tip Superspeed, a Shark blade, pre oiled my face with King of Shaves Alpha-oil pre shave oil, quickly hand lathered with Edge ActiveCare Deep Hydrating Shave cream. Had maybe 2 days growth.

Shave cream cost me $1.99 at an tiny Indian grocery store here in Chicago, didn't have high expectations for it, only bought it because I had never seen it before...turns out its great stuff.

Razor ...................Gillette Black tip Superspeed
Blade ...................Shark
Pre shave..............King of Shaves Alpha-pre shave oil
Shave Cream..........Edge ActiveCare Deep Hydrating Shave cream

Kind Regards, Baba

I think one of the best shave I've had was the Proraso shave

Proraso Pre
Proraso superlather (Green cream/white soap)
Proraso balm

Gillette NEW w/ Bull Mastiff handle
Astra SP blade

With the straight razor, every single of them are great!!

Best I've had so far.

Razor: EJ Loxley W/Astra
Brush: EJ SBB
Soap/Cream Mix: Penhaligons EF soap & BB cream
AS: D.R. Harris Milk

Booming with nice slick lather and an amazing scent.

Probably, my best do it myself shave was when I first returned to DE shaving about two years ago.

Gillette Tech- pre '51
Proraso cream
Vulfix brush
Proaso AS splash
I don't recall the blade

I still use most of these items regularly in my routine. The Tech is my "in a hurry shaver".

I had a shave while in London on business many years ago from a pro, which I recall was a wonderful shave and a true indulgence at the time.

This is a nice idea for a thread.

Razor: Mergress with a Black 7 O'Clock Blade
Cream: Trumpers Violet
Brush: Rooney Heritage Victorian
ASB: Trumpers Coral Skin Food

All applied to clear off a 3 day growth of stubble. I was BBS for about 2 days.

Razor: Rooney
Blade: Croma
Brush: Semogue 2030
Cream: AdP
AS: Thayers Rose Witch Hazel
ASB: AdP
EDC: AoS Lemon

So far I've got the best shave with this setup:

Cream: C.O. Bigelow Barber Eucalyptus Shave Cream (proraso)
Brush: C&E Best Badger
Razor: Gillette Fatboy set on 2 and 3 (for the last pass)
Blade: Feather yellow
A/S: Witch Hazel followed by proraso lotion

Tech A-1 date code
Super Iridium Blade
The Real Shaving Co. Shave2Cream (sensitive skin formula)
Cheap Ever-Ready C-40 brush
Old Spice
While sipping on a double shot of Johnnie Walker Black Label - neat

Only one BBS since starting with a safety razor and I can't seem to repeat it!!! Any suggestions.

Great idea baba, here's mine:

Brush - Vintage Every Ready restored with TGN Grade A Silvertip
Cream - GFT Coconut
A/S - Ogallala Bay Rum

BBS shave and my skin was soft and moist for a full 18 hours after.
