What case is this?

I got this old type the other day. The case is extremely faded out on the inside top. Only on the bottom can you see that it used to be purple. The razor that came with it has a serial number starting with H.
Whatever markings were on the velvet are long gone. There are no marks on the case or the blade holders.
The design of it looks very similar to an old Merkur case I have, but it's a bit taller and doesn't say Merkur on the bottom. The blade holders are identical (none have any marks).

Looks like the cases used by Hoffritz and Coles. Hoffritz generally had blue lining and Coles had black.

Did any of those rebranded merkurs come with purple lining? I seem to recall 1 or 2 more in addition to coles and hoffritz.
This lining is definitely purple. Where the blade holders sit hasn't seen much action and it is as purple as anything under there.

I was thinking about a Hoffritz too. The case looks familiar, and so does the button which opens the case, and the part on which the razor rests.

One thing it kept popping out as I read your description was, the difference in colour beetwen the razor and blade holders. The razor seems to be a bit of gold tone (or maybe just tarnished), but the blade holders are completely silver. All of my Gillette sets when first arrive are the same colour, and after polished, they change colour evenly.

Look at the Razor holders, the same than yours, also the button that opens the case (look at the top of the case, in the inside, they're both the same)

Also the linen on the top, is not the ussual Gillette one.

That looks like the case for the Single Ring 460B set.

The exception is the round push button.
