razors? Got these two on Ebay, sanded the rust and most of the pits off of them and they are looking pretty good.
I've mounted the Gladstone in a pair of test scales to hone it up to see if it warranted good scales. It hones and shaves wonderfully, I was surprised at how well it shaves considering its width. Has that statue of liberty on the tang. On the flip side it says Sheffield and it has that funky Ben Franklin type guy etched on the blade. The blade size and style make it seem like it is fairly old, but the etching looks like it was made more recently, unless the guy in the etching really looked like that and wanted his likeness on his razors. Any information on Glastone razors? I couldn't find much on the web.
The other is a Progress razor, came with scales with an embossed stag on it and has a stag on the tang. Says Holllow Ground on the blade but has no other markings. Don't know where it was made or what kind of steel it is.
