I rarely watch tv ( internet has replaced it ) anymore and find renting ( or free from my library , which these days has almost as many cds, dvds as books !) dvds of shows and watching episode after episode ( if they are good ) without commercials is brilliant. Much more enjoyable to not be interrupted every five minutes with ten minutes of commercials .
So far I have enjoyed the following :
The Office ( original UK one )
Peepshow ( UK series)
Dexter
Weeds
If you liked Lost you should take a gander at Fringe. It's also created by JJ Abrams, fantastic show. Other than that:
I'm a Gordon Ramsay buff,
Rules of Engagement, and
Cougar Town
Thus far, the majority of the shows people have listed have not been on ABC or CBS. I am still trying to figure out who is watching these shows on ABC and CBS that make those two networks the top two in Neilsen Ratings. I really don't watch TV (I stream the above two shows from Hulu) and I haven't seen a program on ABC or CBS in probably a decade.
Chuck
NCIS
The fox sunday night animation
And a whole lot of cardinal baseball
I liked the first season? half season? of Warehouse 13, but it has been off the air for quite a while now. I hear it is supposed to be coming back this summer, which would be nice.
I also watched the first few episodes of Treme. I find some of it interesting, and the music they feature is spectacular. But I got pretty bored with it. I may try to watch a few more episodes to see if I find myself any more invested in any of the characters or plot lines.
