What's new

What are you drinking tonight?

I am thinking for tonight either Martinis or Gibsons, or one or two of each.

Gin. Probably Kirkland. I have a bunch of Blue Sapphire and lots of odds and ends of more artisanal gins. But I have a taste for straight up traditional London Dry gin, and for that Kirkland seems about as good as any to me. (I would prefer it be higher proof.)

Or maybe vodka and soda. Maybe Titos and Topo Chico. A tip of the hat to Texas/Mexico.

Whisky

ATF. I use all three.

Many nice Bourbons don’t make it over the Pond anymore.

I’m really missing Blantons, Elmer T. Lee and Weller...

A pleasant surprise last summer was the Old Ezra 7y barrel strength.

Yesterday, after a long day in the home office, I picked up a bottle of Martini extra dry Vermouth in order to make a proper Gibson. Hendrick's Gin 4:1 with the Vermouth with a 1/4oz of pickled onion brine (Mezzetta brand). This was simply excellent. I always go with 3 onions or 3 olives in my Gibsons or Martinis, but had a little snack before I snapped the pic.

It's currently had to find a number of nice bourbons in The States as well. It's been over a year since I've been able to find any Blanton's, Elmer T. Lee, or Weller.
