West Indian Lime

I was in the local C&E to get some Nomad lucked up they had buy two get one so I did. Anyway I love lime so I tried the West Indian Lime. I have read the review and searched the forum but I would like to here from the experts here before I purchase. $40 is about the limit for me so is there a better West Indian Lime for the money, I don't know the cologne market but I do know the $40 is going to limit the choice but thats fine if I get some positive feedback for the C&E product.

I love a lot of Lime scented colognes including the lime from C&E but have never shelled out the big bucks for them because the scents are so short lived. The T&H WIL is awesome as well but lasts all of 7 minutes on my skin and costs $70.00.

Not sure about the colognes but another option is to try the body wash I have a bottle of that and really enjoy it.

Funny, i just logged on to post a thread about west indian limes. I'm wondering if anyone had any recs on the best one? The C&E smells so good, but I'm still curious?

The body wash is fantastic and it lasts longer than the EDT!! And no, I'm not joking.

From the EDT tester I received, the scent would disappear after 20 minutes :bored: but the scent itself is great.

Unfortunately haven't tried any other Lime fragrances to comment. I really need to fix that :001_smile

P.S. I was curious about Geo F Trumper in particular after smelling the Wild Fern.
GFT West Indian Lime cologne is the finest lime scent one can buy - but it's also got the shortest longevity known to man. 5 minutes on my skin, but what a wonderful aroma while it lasts!

St. Johns West Indian Lime is the only WIL I've tried, but it is truly wonderful stuff! I got a frangrance sampler pack from St. Johns and the WIL was by far my favorite of them all. 4oz aftershave, aftershave balm, or cologne are each available for $40 online. A soap is also available: https://www.stjohnsbayrum.com/Classics.asp

The WIL scent is included in their $5 (w/ free shipping!) frangrance sampler pack.

I enjoy my lime fragrances... even if they don't last long. IMO, the C&E Limes is fantastic - in its own way. I enjoy the base which they have layered the lime note. It makes for a refreshing yet unique scent.

Crown Spiced Limes is top notch as far as lime colognes go. It's been discontinued, but you may be able to find some if you search around. Anglia from Germany has resurrected the scent but I've been told its not quite the same as the original.

St. Johns smells almost EXACTLY like T&H's version, but is gone even sooner!

I disagree with the poster who said GFT's version is the best of the lime colognes; Penhaligon's is the best. Heavenly. Lasts about 30-40 minutes, which is approximately twice what I can get out of T&H, and 3 times what I can get out of St. John's.

Of all the lime-ish colognes, Monsieur Balmain lasts the longest on me, and it is quite nice, although the opening is really more lemon than lime.

How long does the C&E last? That's unfortunate these go away so quick... sort of makes me wonder what the point is. :( Too bad, I think I'm going to skip limes.

The Shave Den's store offers terrific lime aftershave and cologne for around $10.00 each. You also have the option of kicking it up with menthol. The aftershave has roughly the same staying power as the others.

I'm curious to see how long the C&E lasts as well...it ain't cheap but I love the smell!!!

I get a good 4 to 6 hours out of the C&E. It is not a true lime cologne in the sense of most of the others mentioned in this thread, there is lime in it, but there are most certainly woods and other notes that the lime is built on. So it is "limeish" but not "limes" - you don't get the citrus blast of T&H, GFT, or even TOBS. Definitely a worthy scent, it just doesn't aim for what these others do with their limes. The shower gel is great, I stock up on it during C&E's half off sales that seem to happen once or twice a year.

I'm not really an expert but I find this lime excellent, even in terms of longevity. As others have mentioned it is not a "pure" lime but to me that is a good thing. I think it is an excellent value.

I miss the Lime Speed Stick deodorant! Why did they stop making such a wonderful scent?

I used to have come Lemon Verbena EDT. That was some wonderful smelling stuff.

I need to try some lime colognes. I'll have to snag some C&E sometime.
