What's new

West Coast Shaving

I had heard about WCS through another B&B member and decided to give them a try. I had been ordering most of my shaving supplies either through amazon or shavenation, but both had pretty limited supplies. I ordered some D.R. Harris hair tonic, pinaud talc (a must have!), and some GFT lime skin food. I received my package in about 5 days (in Afghanistan; not bad WCS) in good shape. Unfortunately they had replaced the lime skin food with coral (and honestly I couldn't stand the smell). I wrote them about it and was suprised by their response.
I expected a, "hey, sorry about that.....have a good day." Not these guys. They wrote back quickly saying, not only are we sending you the right stuff, but email us the postage you have to pay to send us the Coral and we will give you that money back. This retailer responded with a name and not just a company title and offered a really admirable service.
I now highly recommend WCS. They are extremely professional, have genuine concern for their customers, and deliver in a very timely manner.

Not surprised at all. They are rewriting the textbook on how to serve customers. Glad for you that they're sorting out the issue

I had a very positive experience with them during my sample blade pack purchase. I will definitely shop there again.

I assume you are in Indian Country when you say Afghanistan, thank you for your service and stay frosty.

This is how WCS does business and they are good! Accidents happen, we are all human and WCS knows this and makes it easy for you when they do happen. Great people!

I emailed them with a concern I had about the cost of shipping on a recent order. I got a quick and polite explanation that satisfied my concerns. They are good to work with.

I would definitely recommend them as well. I previously ordered 100 blades (among other various items) from them, and they sent me the wrong blades by accident. They were very helpful and fixed the order within days. They also told me to keep the blades they sent on accident.

The owner is a member here and was pretty close to the ground floor if not on it when this forum started and I think that makes a difference.

Greta service. Their website is very helpful as well.

I have only ordered from WCS once and had a very positive experience and will be ordering more from them in the future. The website is fine. but I'd like to see a couple minor changes that would help with browsing for products.

If you know what you are looking for, it is very easy to find that product. But sometimes I like to browse a bit and see what is available. So, for example, let's say I'm looking to see what shaving soaps are for sale at WCS. I click on Shaving Creams and Soaps and it returns 177 items divided into 15 pages of 12 items each. There is no option to see more than 12 items on a single page. That's probably my biggest "complaint"--and really not a complaint so much as a minor annoyance. When you don't know what you are looking for, moving through 15 pages isn't particularly convenient.

The second small change I would implement is to add the ability to look at brands by product category. Using the example above, now that I have the 177 soaps and creams, a pull-down menu with the specific brands carried in this category would help the customer, IMO. (See Italian Barber for an example of this feature.) But if I could see all the products on one page (or even two) sorting by brand would be a reasonable alternative to this. Together they would improve the shopping experience--for me at least.

Again, nothing serious--just a couple suggestions.

I buy from WCS quite often. They are fast on shipping and great on customer service. Also, their prices for most items are about the lowest on the internet.

WCS is my go-to source for shaving products. The only reason I would stray from them is if they didn't carry a particular item, and that is a long shot. I am a customer of theirs for life!

WCS rocks, they were great working with a while back when I had problems with 2 Simpson brushes.
They were very friendly and patient, they even shipped out replacements before receiving the defective ones back and said they will include a return label and reuse the box to send them back.

Before I discovered all the related threads here at B&B, I asked them about my Red Personnas, i.e., "are they really Israeli or made in Mexico? Made in US?"
Not only did they answer comprehensively, but their website was updated to give info on the same subject a few days later.

Very happy with my orders from West Coast Shaving, my only shaving supplies vendor to date.
