Back in July, I started a thread about how I wasn't all that thrilled with the Merkur Futur but after putting it away for a bit and getting more comfortable with my technique, I recently started using it as my daily razor. I've been quite impressed with how much better a shave I'm getting and with fewer nicks. I've found that a setting of 2, using a Feather or Astra SP blade works best, using a tallow-based soap such as AoS Sandalwood or MWF. I never could get a decent lather from any of the glycerin soaps I tried.
