Wee Scot in the House!

Just got my Wee Scot from RoyalShave (great vendor BTW) earlier today. My everyday brush is the Duke 3. Concerning the Scot, do most people place cream first on the face and then lather? Or is it more effective with the Scot to place shaving cream directly on the wet brush? Need tips from tomorrows shave!

It's a strange little brush to use, I'm sure those with a lot of experience will have some more advice but in my experience- palm lathering is the way the WS works best. I place the normal amount of shaving cream directly on the palm and then swirl the brush around in a leisurely way until the lather is just right. I have no other brush that I find this method to work well but it seems the least awkward way to work with the wee, I suppose due to it's size. Takes a little getting used to using such a tiny brush, but once you do it's pretty fun. Like others have mentioned elsewhere, being able to pinpoint where your lather goes is a fun experience.

Try the trusted "dip and twist" method. It's self regulating and consistent. The Wee Scot is sooooooooooooo lovely!

Most of the time I used a shave stick or a soft cream with the Wee Scot. With a cream I would do a "dip & twist" then face lather. You could also use your finger to put some cream on your face first. I use that method with samples or tubes.

Nice little brush and yes, apply the cream directly on the brush and go at it for face-lathering, just my opinion. Good luck.

I just got mine the other day- I LOVE IT! I was very surprised at how much lather it can hold. Congrats on the new brush!

+1, i laught when i first got it, but damn this thing lathers. And from where? it's so small i didn't think it would even work, but it will go in rotation
for sure.

Been meaning to get one for a few months now, Christmas etc. got in the way but finally I have just ordered one.

I am a face latherer and am looking forward to trying it out. Should get it around the middle of the week.

I love my Wee Scot! It doesn't matter whether you put the cream on your face or the brush first; whatever you like. I agree that palm lathering works great with this brush.

I bought mine today (thanks rand77), and its my first Simpsons, any special maintenance tips? It wasn't expensive, but I like to take care of my possessions regardless of monetary value.

I have palm lathered and face lathered with my Wee Scott. I got mine from Bullgoose (Awesome vendor!!!) and I love mine.

Out of the two, I prefer face lathering with it.

Man, I have one and can't for the life of me get this brush to work for me. It's been sitting for about 4 months now, feels like I'm face lathering with a canvas paint brush. I want to like this brush but ?

Load it like crazy, and really work it. Makes lots of lather for such a small brush. But its not for everyone. Good for soaps i think.
