Very dirty and scratched two band 14ct gold. When it gets dirty it's hard to differentiate between the yellow and the white gold.

Not as cool as my first ring, which was titanium...and which was devoured by the Pacific Ocean on a cold day. :cursing:

14ct gold band (comfort fit).

The first ring was consumed by the river, when our canoe flipped, on a canoe trip, 3 weeks after we were married.

I have a platinum band that has a hammered and brushed finish (i.e. I had the jeweler dent and scratch it for me, so I wouldn't have to worry about doing it later)

To heck with your band. Nice watch. Always loved Panerai.
Ha ha. It is not real. It is a "Marina Militare" made by some bogus company. I picked it up off the 'bay for $70. It is suppose to be a knock off of a Radiomir, like the one below:

Thanks for the compliment though! :w00t:

Well, to me Platinum is really not a jewelry metal and never was. It's a long story but it was introduced during the war as a replacement for "white gold" when gold was scarce. Platinum over time developes a tarnish and wind's up looking like steel, not very attractive expecially for a man's ring which is more subject to wear. But that's just me. Gols, silver, copper, bronze have been used as jewely metals throughout time, platinum never.

Actually unlike gold which is pretty common stuff platinum is truly rare. All the platinim ever mined in the world would fit into the average person's livingroom.

No picture but I have a tungsten carbide ring. It has a titanium look to it. After just over 2 years it still looks practically brand new. It Doesn't cost an arm and a leg either.
