Waterman Pens?

I am beginning to have an interest in pens but know nothing about them. I have an apportunity to buy 2 Waterman pens. Each come with the original box one is a fountain pen that looks like an airline use to give them out to their customers. The other one is a very nice looking ball point pen that is grey marble in color and gold clip and a gold Waterman logo. I don't think the person selling them knows much more then me about pens. They are asking $20.00 a piece for each pen. Is this a fair price? And would Waterman pens be a good start to probably another AD. Thanks for any info...

I own a Waterman Expert rollerball and really like it. By and large, I've liked all their products.

I don't like any of the modern Waterman pens, as I find them all too heavy for writing for extended periods. The barrels are usually made from solid brass, then coated or plated. This isn't limited to Waterman, by the way; many modern pen manufacturers make their pens this way. Without seeing the pens in question, I'll venture to say that the fountain pen isn't worth the price no matter what they're asking for it, since it probably won't write worth a damn if it's one of Waterman's really cheap modern lines. However, if it is a vintage Waterman made before 1960, that's a different story entirely. As for the ballpoint, could be okay, could be garbage. As the other posters have said, we need photos.
