WalMart personna blades-better than expected...

I tried one of the WalMart Personnas that my dad gave me with his Blue Tip in my 56 Flare Tip, and was decidedly underwhelmed. Then I tried one in my Slim, and wow! Open the razor up to 4 on the first pass, 5 on the second, lather up well with Mama Bear's soap, and this blade went from underwhelming to DFS. I'm impressed!

That gives me an alternative for when I'm traveling, or just because...

Well since you can adjust it, I can see how you could possibly "Keyword" get an ok shave out of it.

However, in a red tip or my parker, its like kicking your face in the nuts, if you know what I mean.

I am using tesco/boots de blades that I suspect are the UK equivilant of the Wal-Mart personas. Could you embelish your red tip discription please? :001_smile

I have actually had quite good experiences with the Walmart Personnas myself. So far they are the only blades I have uses with the exception of the single Merkur blade that came with my Merkur HD. Cheap and available locally...will prolly always keep some of these around.

I find so far that they have given me a great shave, but I suppose I will need to try more blades before I make a definitive statement.
