Wallenda Grand Canyon

This guy is really dumb he has a wife and kids, and no safety measures. Sure I'd do it if I was single and had nothing going good for me. Family first then stupid stunts. Hope he makes it.

Any one remember the Flying Wallendas and the tragedy when their pyramid collapsed during a tight rope performance? They never used a safety net either. FWIW he actually did not cross the Grand Canyon, which is a National Park, instead he crossed a section of the canyon that is on Native American lands. A trivial point, perhaps, but it is not actually the Grand Canyon.

There was also a 10 second delay.

I heard an interview with Willie Geist who was the host. He said halfway through the walk Wallenda's kids were on their cell phones. I can't imagine playing angry birds while your dad is walking the tight wire and has the potential to fall.

I don't know, that is kind of his job. A lot of people have jobs where they could be killedjust going to work (industrial, fire, police, delivery drivers, people whobuild high rise buildings) and make a lot less money. Yes it was dangerous butso are a lot of things. I think the biggest thing to remember/ think aboutisthis is his occupation, he trains for this type of thing like fighters trainfor fights or police train to go into the field. I thought it was cool, dangerous and extremely profitable! We all have things we are good at andthings we are not, heck if everyone could make a cup of coffee Starbuckswouldn't exist!

I didn't watch it. I admire his sand, but in the end, he walked across a rope. If it was 2 foot off the ground, it still held the same difficulty to cross, maybe even more so. I bet you concentrate a lot more if your life is at risk. I don't care to watch something that the main attraction is that someone might fall and die. If you think about it, that's the only real interest. Nobody would give a crap about it if he had safety measures in place to prevent his death, which is why it was mentioned in every promo that there weren't any. I thought it was classless to mention his grandfather falling to his death to promote the spectacle. Just my opinion though, I'd rather watch that than an episode of The Real whatevers of where ever. Get off my dang lawn!:001_smile
