quite a while back I picked up a 'pre-england-marked' W&B meat-chopper.
I posted here and on SRP trying to get some help figuring out what the scale material was and you were all very helpful - this may jog your memories:
with your help and some more investigation of my own I've found that they are a material called ebonite or vulcanite - which is basically just hardened rubber.
so, I'm finally getting around to posting the pictures from the 'restoration' that I did (I put that in quotes because it's not like there was a ton to be done).
I ground out the chips in the heel and polished the blade.
Cleaned (lots of time with 320 grit sand paper) then polished the scales.
Repinned the whole unit..
I'd say it's pretty alright for my resto..
