My first restore and thanks to B&B member, deezyrocks, I got this beauty Wade and Butcher wedge.
Here are a couple shots of the beginning of the restore. The blade needs more of a polish. I won't take it down too far because I would like to leave the pitting. Maybe not a mirror polish but close.
The scales are one piece and made of Bocote. I really like the grain on this wood. Funny, the raw wood does smell like pickles. I got the general shape but it needs some refining and progressive sanding. I want a natural finish so probably beeswax or tung oil.
I have to look into pinning. I think I will go with some sort of micro fastener.
