Vulfix Super vs Simpson's Best

Can anyone tell me what difference(s) there might be between Vulfix Super Badger and Simpson's Best? Say a 22 mm knot both set at the same loft? I heard a person in a shop, who seemed knowledgeable, say that they were the same, and would feel and perform similarly. Any help from a voice of experience is appreciated.

Exactly the same grade of badger, with a different name. The differences in performances and sometimes in feeling might be due that in Simpson's brushes the knot is more densely packed.

Yes. If I recall correctly I do believe that´s a fact (coming from Mark -managing director of Vulfix/Simpsons) Truly a great grading by the way.

Spot on. My Vulfix 2273 (in Super badger) and my Simpson Special in best have the same grade of hair and about the same knot dimensions (19x40mm). The 2273 is said to be the most dense Vulfix, the Special the least dense Simpson. The same brush with a different handle?

No way, the Special is at least 30% more dense than the 2273.
