Vintage Sweden straight razor jackpot? Help identify one sr.

$badger.jpg

I got this beautiful set few days ago. Leathercase is in good condition and there is text Osgar 1932 so I assume this is someones SR set from past. All SR are taking care before storing them, everyone of them is shave ready! And haven't been used for decades. All five are in great condition. Starting from top.

1. Unidentified SR, there is some wearing on shank and only readable text is "arranted". Help me identify this razor, there is single picture on this thread.
2. C.V. Heljestrand, Eskilstuna 5/8
3. C.V. Heljestrand, Eskilstuna No 24, maybe 3/8?
4. C.V. Heljestrand, MK No 31 with three chrones on shank. On scale text "Fermarud"
5. Eriksson & Björklund, Eskilstuna, Sweden on shank.

If you have any knowledge about this SR's below or others, please educate me.

The text on the unidentified one was likely "Warranted." Meaning they had a warrant or Royal permit to make razors, something along those lines. What else it said beyond that is anyone's guess.

Based on the shape, notably the "stub tail," the razor likely dates to the early 19th century. I will say, however, that is based on English razors of the time, and I do not know if the changes in blade architecture in sweden were somewhat behind their contemporaries in that regard.

The scales appear to be horn, both by color and also by the washers and pins.

The CVH razors are all desirable to some extent, the MK31 being the most desirable of them. The "Fermarud" could refer to the retailer, it could have been the owner who marked his name into the scales. My guess is that hurts the value somewhat, but not a lot if its well done, and those could always be replaced.

E&K is a decent Swedish razor maker, but the blade is so small that I question if its been worn down to the point of being unusable, or just started out much smaller than the bunch. It doesn't have the clout of CVH

Osgar was a brand name of Sheffield razor maker Osgood, Bray & Co. so that's where the case came from.
MK24s start out as 4/8. Very hard steel and shave like a larger razor.
Fermarud was a brand name of Solingen razor maker Gebr. Lang. The MK31 probably had broken scales that were replaced with these.
All good razors and a very nice set.

That top razor looks awesome. I know that much. I'd love one like that for my collection. Great score.

Nice score!

Greybeard is right (as always!) the MK#31 has had it's scales replaced.
Eriksson&Björklund was started by former Heljestrand employees, so they are very similar.
