Vintage Skin Bracer

Got two small sets on eBay last week. One was a sweet cologne and AS set, the other a collectible set with AS, Leather and Wild Moss. The cologne is all powder. The Wild Moss smells best of the bunch.

Oh man, I had forgotten what the old Skin Bracer bottles looked like! I can't really place where I remember them from but those dimpled bottles are stuck in my memories from somewhere. I got to get a bottle to put my Bracer in. (skin bracer is a favorite work day scent for me, and it feels great on my skin)

I have about 60 ounces of vintage Skin Bracer in the outrageously shaped glass bottles (hand, construction worker, bear, light bulb, etc). I used some this morning for the first time and it was great. Skin Bracer is one of my favorties ASBs and the vintage stuff is no exception.

I was worried that it might have lost some of its scent, as one poster said of vintage Aqua Velva. Not to worry, this seemed just fine.

I'm reluctant to describe any differences between the old and new after one try. Maybe the scent was a little stronger. There was a difference in the order of ingredients, but I looked at that months ago and have forgotten. Maybe it was the alcohol.

The 8 or 9 bottles (some are huge at 12 ozs) cost $40 with shipping. Minus shipping, that was cheaper than what I can get 5 oz of Skin Bracer for at the Commissary ($2.90, I think). For display purposes, I guess I'll fill them with Vi-Jon Brisk when I empty a bottle....

Anyway, great stuff. Highly recommended.

Wow, was that $40 for all those bottles full of Bracer? That was a fine score! I've seen individual, regular Skin Bracer bottles go much more than that on a price per ounce on the Bay.

I found a vintage dimpled glass bottle of skin bracer at an antique store today. I can't say I've ever been a fan of skin bracer, but the bottle would be pretty cool to have around, and it doesn't cost much. I might just pick it up.
