Vintage Gillette Blades versus Modern Blades

I've been using these old Gillettes and have found them to be very close and very smooth. I also use Feathers and generally like them very much, but they do have the potential to cut me on occasion. In short, these Gillettes seem to be a half a step above. The question is: Are the old Gillettes the best blades that were ever made? I understand that your mileage may very and that many consider the Swedes to perhaps be the equal of these old blades. I didn't like the Swedes because of the machining oil on the blades. Are there any blades these days (besides Swedes) that approach the old Gillettes in terms of smoothness and closeness?

I can't compare them to the old blades because I haven't tried them but I find that the 7 O'Clock Permarsharp, Super Platinum and Sharp Edge blades are very smooth and close. The Super Stainless blades aren't quite as good.
