Vintage Blades synthetic?

I don't have any direct experience with the Vintage Blade synthetic brushes, but based on their published specifications (24 x 55mm and 22 x 52mm) they appear to qualify as Generation 3.5. I will be ordering one and will report the results here.
Generation 3 with an extreme similarity to TGN 3 Band Synthetic knot. The fibers are slightly thicker than the Generation 4 brushes.
Here is the TGN knot at 24 mm.
Here is the VB brush at 24 mm.
It does not have as crimping like the Gen 3.5 Muhle V1. But if it is close to the TGN then it is a really good knot.
Here is the Muhle V1 and V2 Gen 4 for comparison.

yet you rank the VB as gen 3. What accounts for the missing .5 - the lack of crimping?

If you look at them quick they look like silvertip badger brushes.
The TGN 3 band is a later and better version Generation 3 knot than most. The 24 mm TGN 3 band is one of my favorite synthetic knots. You are right about the crimping on the V1. That is the main difference in the V1 over other Generation 3 fiber brushes that places it into a subclass for a lack of better place to slot it because the fibers are Gen 3 but the performance is
slightly better overall. The TGN 3 Band is noted in the Gen 3 class in the Generations thread.
