Viking Sword Blades

I got these blades free with a purchase of Mem Olive and Mem Original. As far as a I know, these blades are Israeli made and an offshoot of Personna blades.

Has anyone heard of them or tried them?

I've heard of them but never tried them. I think I have one though that is in waiting to try. If I try it before you I'll let you know the results.

Just received some and have had 1 shave with them. Smooth, comfortable and effective. Like them so far. Will be using them all week and will report back later.

My pack of 20 arrived today and I used one with some GFT Limes cream I managed to pick up in town. Very smooth and comfortable, no blood and 99% BBS without even trying. If this blade lasts for a few shaves I could see it becoming a regular in my rotation.

The wrapper and blade look like Personna Precision (Personna Precision blades)

If they are indeed the same blade and you have thick whiskers, you might experience tugging and quite a rough shave. I had a pack and used five or six blades, all with the same result. Don't like to say it, the usual, YMMV.

I do have quite tough whiskers and the Vikings Sword like the unbranded supermarket Israeli blades before it gave me a good, comfortable shave. I've just PIF'd 95 Astra SPs because for me those blades are absolutely awful despite being one of the most highly regarded blades here and on other wet shaving sites. A case of YMMV indeed.

Have been using these for 10 days now and like them. Extremely smooth and comfortable and effective. Since I go for a DFS rather than BBS, these are great for me. Will be getting more I think

I ended up getting 5 shaves out of this one though it was tugging a bit towards the end, but 4 good shaves is still good going for me. Like the Tesco blade before it, it does seem to fall away quite quickly; after 4 shaves it had shown no signs of deteriorating. All in all a very good blade especially when price is taken in to account, I can see me buying more.

Got my first shave in tonight with the VS, in my Razorock SLAB. This razor has been just about phenomenal with every blade I've tried, and the Sword was no exception. First shave is often tricky, particularly with any untried blade/razor combo. However, I'm quite pleased with this one. It may not be the smoothest shaver but it didn't tug or pull, a couple of minor weepers, but a very close second pass and then buffing to achieve a BBS, with a couple of quick-stopping weepers. So far the closest comparison I believe is with the Lord Platinum, although the Sword may be a tad sharper. Will let you know how shaves 2 and 3 go, but for the price and quality so far, I may be hooked.

I've seen them on eBay Australia, although the seller doesn't sell over seas.
I have personally tried the Viking Swords and Personna Reds. They are intact made by the same company, so quality is up there.
While I am very fond of the reds, I had my first shave with the Viking Swords tonight, and did experience a bit of tugging (with one days growth), however, got a BBS.

I would assume it may have had something to do with the poor lather I generated tonight using TOBS Sandalwood soap. I'll give it a go again tomorrow with a cream instead.

Overall the Viking Sword were cheaper than the Personna brand and are of equal quality! Hope that helps!

Used one for the first time (thanks to ArNav!). Awesome. Awe. Some. Smooth, close, comfortable shave. Rank right alongside Voskhod, Iridium Supers and Super Iridiums. Have to buy me some after Christmas.
