Vie-Long Three Band Silvertip vs Two Band in short Loft

Has anyone had experience with these brushes? I was wondering how they compare to each other for face lathering, and are they decent brushes in general? These are the ones with the 24mm knot and 50mm loft. (The two band also comes in a 55mm loft)

I used to have both. I didn't feel a big difference between them. The 3-bander looked and felt pretty much like the 2 band with a bit less scritch. They both are soft with some scritch. The density is above average, they don't bloom much. The backbone and hair strength are extremely good, even a little too much for me. The flowthrough was slightly below average. I found them more suitable for face lathering. IMO the handle is one of the best looking modern design which also helps for face lathering. I wished the handle was a couple of mm taller.

That's a lot of help to me too, thanks. I keep looking at those two brushes from time to time, but haven't convinced myself to buy one yet - partly because I'd read no comparisons.

Are you saying that these knots have more scritch than usual for a silver tip? What made you get rid of them?

They had more scritch than I like, and I like brushes with better flowthrough.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. It looks like a nice brush, but I'm looking for something soft, and good for face lathering.
