Shoot, $345 for my 2008 Mazda 3. That's actually down about $60 from when I got it two years ago!

I do pay an extra $20 for my "Support our troops" special license plate, but, still...

Your registration fee is based on the value of your vehicle. Am I understanding that correctly? If so, it's total BS.

Guys...everybody complain' about high taxes in AZ!! I've read some posts around and since razors deliveries to car sales everybody is unhappy with taxes in AZ...:thumbdown

What's goin'on?!

Our registration fees and taxes vary here depending on cylinders. V8 will cost a heck of a lot more than V6 or 4 cylinder. It is all too much considering we pay taxes when we buy the car, then registration fees and then more personal property every year.

It's lower now, but when I was growing up in Massachusetts, annual excise tax (property tax) on each vehicle was 6% of book value.

I think everyone is starting to realize that "fees" that are supposed to be related to the value of your property are a joke... Everyone's property is worth much less now, but taxes are still high. $240 is absurd. Do you drive a Gold plated Bentley?

This type of crap falls under a discussion I had w/ my father at the beginning of summer. It was a political discussion and during it I asked, "How many times can the government tax our money?". His answer was, "According to the government, a lot and not enough".

I wish, just a 2009 Ford Ranger I bought last year.

I totally misread the title of this thread as "Vehicle Restoration". I got really excited, and then really let down. Sorry to hear about your nasty taxes in AZ. That is part of the reason I drive an old, beat up truck with nearly 230k miles.
