Vdh

Just melted VDH deluxe puck and mixed in coconut and vanilla. Nice smells and good lather. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what kind of ideas you might be expecting, but as long as you've found a scent you like and haven't fouled up the shave I say good job!

Coconut and vanilla extract?!? You mean the stuff in the supermaket in the baking section? What does it taste like? I poured Lime essential oil into mine.

I poured Bleu Marine Cologne in mine, a favorite cologne that I wore 20 years ago (and wouldn't wear in 2010). It smells great, and performs good.

I still prefer Trumper, Cade, DR Harris, etc., but it's not bad for $1.50 a puck.

An idea would be is break it into 4 pieces, and melt them in four different mugs so you could experiment with four difference scents. 4 times the fun!

I have recently melted four VDH pucks into separate Pyrex(with plastic covers) storage containers. In each I added a different fragrance oil, Lime, Bay Rum & Lime, Brut and Cool Water. They all smell wonderful and lather just fine and the bowl covers keep the fragrances home.

I am not sure of the feasibility of adding anything other than soap quality fragrance oil or essential oils to your soap.

I have been making cold process soap for years and have not had any problems with fragrance oils purchased from reputable soap supply online outlets.
