VDH frankensoap success

I started experimenting on melting VDH soap, and adding other creams and goodies to it to improve it, if possible. My latest has been my biggest success so far. I used VDH delux, and added kiss my face mint, tabac cream, glycerine, and cornhuskers lotion. The mix was approx 60% VDH, a small amount of glycerine, and equal parts of everything else. The result is a softer soap that still lathers well, and is lubricating. I've been using it to face lather and it performs as well as any other soap I've used, and it is very pleasant on my skin. I think I'm going to try to reproduce it later after I find some empty twist up containers so I can pour it into stick form.
The VDH is melting very quickly. I am giving it 10 seconds in my microwave, and then 5 and I have completely melted liquid at that point.

Very cool, sounds like a nice combo. I'd highly recommend picking up some of the empty shavestick tubes online (I think mamabears soaps sells them). I did some VDH experiments as well, and used an old axe deodorant container, while in the end it sorta worked, the level of stuff you have to do to get mediocre results wasn't worth it, when I could have gotten excellent and reusable containers for just a couple bucks and some time.

I actually went with the VDH Luxury, unscented, so as to not cause too many scent related conflicts. lol I still have 2 full unused pucks of that stuff. Got a bulk pack of 3 for like $10 shipped.

I have a puck of the luxury unscented, but haven't broken into it yet. I'm still working through the deluxe, and am only using a little at a time, and pouring it into 30cc mixing cups for testing. Once I get a good recipe, I'll try making larger amounts. This will be my first large batch.
