Valobra storage

Is it ok to keep Valobra in a metal or wooden soap bowl without an airtight lid? I get the feeling the will dry out and harder otherwise.....

I would keep it covered, but I don't think you'll do any permanent harm. At worst, the surface layer will dry out, but will also rehydrate when you lather up.

I have mine sitting uncovered in my medicine cabinet. It's been this way for almost a year, with no ill effects. I do use it a lot, though.

Yes, then you will need to keep it covered (i.e., airtight-ish)
