I picked up a Westinghouse vac pot, apparently an 8 cup, and the seal didn't seem real tight. It's not brittle or cracked and is still plyable so I decided to try it. Didn't seal good enough for the water to rise.
The bottom "flange" of the seal in the pic. below seems snug when it goes in.
The top "flange" rests on the mouth of the bottom pot.
But you can move the top bowl up and down quite a bit from where the top "flange" rests on the bottom pot until you raise it up to where the bottom "flange" hits the mouth of the pot. The middle "flanges" don't seem to seal against the mouth of the pot. I've even tried wetting the gasket and twisting it when I put it together.
I'm sure it's the correct top and bottom pots as the top bowl is marked 8UW and the bottom bowl is marked 8LW.
Anyone have a quick fix for this?
I've looked at the dayseal website but they don't show any Westinghouse gaskets.
One good thing is that the Cory rod that came with it works better in my Yama than the 3 other Cory rods I have and I only paid $15 for the entire pot.
