Using aftershave splash and balm

doctordial

my brain goes "thonk"
Hello all, I like the smell of Bay Rum aftershave splash and I also like Baxter of California after shave balm. Well, I used both today. First I rinsed my face after I went over it with witch hazel and then rinsed again with cold water, next I used Captains Choice, then I thought my face looked dry. Am I defeating the purpose? Should I just use one or the other or reverse the order? I'm open for suggestions.

I've used both when razor burn was apparent or suspected. I'll start with the splash and then hit the balm after it dries down.

Sometimes I use my nivea splash followed by RR wax. Sometimes I mix them, sometimes I use the balm then the splash because I like the scent of the splash better. Whatever you find works best for you is what I would do.

Hey, it's all good depending on the need of the day. Sometimes I just use AS, sometimes ASB. Once in awhile both.

My cold weather post shave routine is typically: cold water rinse, toner of some kind.... usually witch hazel, aftershave splash.... usually with alcohol in it, and then an aftershave balm.... usually without alcohol. An hour or two after I shave (I shave in the evenings) I will apply a facial moisturizer/night cream.

In the warm weather months it's pretty much the same except I may leave out the balm and substitute a little 444 balm with my splash mixed into it.
