upgrading to Shavemac D01

Hello everybody
I hope everyone is having a good holiday week

I've been using a C&E pure badger for over 2years now and am upgrading to a shavemac D01 SB1-167-2B.
My problem is I don't know if I should be measuring the CE knot from the white rim around the hair or the actual hairs?
I plan to get a black handle with my initials, maybe the days date of order

Are you measuring the CE brush so you know what size you've already been using, and thus whether to go larger or smaller? Or do you plan to use the CE handle with a new knot? Either way, measure the diameter of the knot at the hairs immediately above the handle. Some knots use a metal or plastic collar at the base of the knot, which would need to be removed if you are re-knotting the brush. In that case, remove the knot and collar, then measure the hole.
