So yesterday I shaved with my new straight razor. It said on the box that I didn't need to strop it first, so I didn't. The shave was rough and not comfortable. So after I finished shaving I stropped it for the first time. This morning I stropped it again before I shaved. The results of the shave were MUCH better. It cut the hairs much easier and it was a lot more comfortable. I guess what happened was after Lynn honed it, it was sitting around for a period of time before it was sold (which someone on this forum mentioned). It seemed that the blade needed a good stropping to wake it up and remove any particles from it. I don't usually shave on the weekend, but I will make an exception in this case because I am eager to try it again. I also like stropping, I'm doing a pretty good job at it.
