Upcoming trip to Boston - Colonial Drug?

Hello fellow B&Bers.

I will be in Boston on business starting tomorrow through Saturday morning.

I've done some searching on the forums for the best B&M shop in the area and it appears to be Colonial Drug in Harvard Square.
However, many of the posts I found were posted in years previous, so I'm hopeful some of you will chime in and let me know if this is still the best B&M shop. If not, is there another shop I should visit? Please post your thoughts.

Thanks for the help!

From my understanding you have one of the best B&M shops anywhere, Pasteur Pharmacy. I'm looking forward to my next trip to the city so I can check it out for myself. In Boston, I'm going to do just what you said. I have my notebook ready. :wink2:

Colonial Drug is a great place to visit. If you are going to visit Colonial, be sure to walk about 10 minutes down Mass Ave. and check out

Leavitt & Peirce
1316 Mass Ave.
Cambridge, MA

Leavitt & Peirce is best described as a Gentlemen's shop that seems to carry mostly cigars and pipe tobacco, but has a small, but good shave section. I don't smoke, but love the aroma every time I step in Leavitt & Peirce, if you smoke, you're in for a treat..

Both shop owners are very familiar with B&B.

Thanks Robert. I don't smoke either, but I'll definitely stop in and check it out. My grandfather owned a tobacco farm and smoked a pipe so I do love the smell of pipe tobacco. :001_smile

I'd recommend Leavitt & Pierce.
Oddly, it appears that Colonial has had it's Yelp reviews 'cleaned up' in recent months.

Definitely check out Colonial Drug, if only for the MASSIVE Plisson brush in the window by the entrance.
