im curious what razor came in this box. i bought it with a lot on the bay and it came with an old type in it which is definately not a tech. i did a search on mr razor's site but didnt see the box. thanks guys

Many of these Techs were given away free by the military or American Red Cross. The military gave them to many Vietnam war soldiers and the Red Cross gave them out after disasters for relief. Here is one example,

it´s a nice early Tech set. My set comes with a "J2" blade from 1939:

With that on the side of the box, it leaves the impression it was sent directly to the end user as a mail order or special promotional offering.

Tom, Gillette was a innovator at advertising. They spent a large portion of the budget on it. The free razors were a big part of that marketing and the Tech razor was one of the most popular give away razors due to low cost to produce.
