Twinnings Earl Grey scent

Okay, I know its silly, but just opened a tin of Earl Grey loose leaf tea and my wife made the comment, "Now that is a cologne I would love you to wear"

So any takers on a scent match either AS or EDT?

Sorry to be such a nerd, but isn't Orange pekoe just another type of black tea?

not a type of tea its a grade of tea quality. usually associated with ceylon teas http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_pekoe but also darjeelings sometimes use it. if you order single estate teas they come with a code describing the quality like SFTGFOP which would be really good stuff (Special Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) Orange Pekoe is basically the lowest quality of whole leaf tea...basically means it should not have broken leaves.

There are many tea scents. pretty much anything from bulgari has tea in it. most perfumes use bergamot in the top note...i think lavender and bergamot have to be the 2 most used notes in all of perfumery.

try out some of these:

L'artisan perfumer tea for two - its hard to find since i believe it's discontinued and kinda expensive to begin with but it's an amazing tea scent
Gucci pour homme II - tea and cinnamon
Bulgari Black - is smokey tea with lots of vanilla
Bvlgari Homme Extreme - tea with spices and woods
Eau Parfumee au The Rouge - tea and fig...lots of fig
Bulgari eau de the vert - green tea cardamom and bergamot...might be the closest thing to what you're looking for
Bulgari eau de the blanc - really bulgari puts a tea note in all their perfumes...

Very interesting reading. I usually drink 2 cups of tea a day but it's always made from tea bags.

Nearest to the scent of tea I've tried is The Brun by J.C. Brosseau. A very good fougere. Also has some bergamot.

Speick Natural EDT EDC has a very strong bergamot scent.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I have heard great things about the Speick line here on B&B, so that maybe on my Christmas List. I will also take a look at Silver Mountain Water, Bulgari Black and Homme Extreme. Always love the knowledge this site has!

Try loose leaf teas! It is a world better just like DE shaving with quality soaps versus Mach3 and Edge goo!

I recommend you get the Speick edt (square bottle) and not Speick cologne (cylindrical bottle).

Also, Thé Brun is a good suggestion. I'll have to pick up a bottle myself.

I have a wide variety of Earl Grey teas and even make my own earl grey infused gin. I love the stuff - love the taste, love the scent - but can't for the life of me think of any fragrance that smells remotely like the tea. Tea for two comes to mind but it's a bit smoky and not very citric in the opening, and there's Eau de Fier by Annick Goutal, which has more citrus in it, but a lot more smoke - both are discontinued anyway.

Now a quick google search came up with Demeter's Earl Grey Tea scent, DKNY, l'Occitane The Bergamot, Malabah by Penhaligons, Oranges & Lemons Bells of St. Clemons (Heeley), and so on. Hmmm... I haven't tried any of these.
