TSA friendly carry on on toiletry's bag

After having a bit of a discussion with the TSA on my last trip (again) I want to put together a carry on toiletry's bag, That will not delay me.
The toiletry's bag needs to have everything in it that I would need if my checked luggage got lost or I get stuck someplace,
so my friends what would you recommend and what razor can one carry on ?

*AND I really think that TSA agents should be proficient in English!!!

Much discussed topic.

If you want to go through security with the least risk of inspection or delay, and you want to be carrying everything you need and not arrange to have blades waiting for you or go shopping at your destination, carry a common cartridge razor or disposable. If you are wondering if something could be a problem, it will be at some point. I have a brass travel brush I quit carrying because about 1 in 10 times I would get stopped because of it.

Check your bags and spare the hassle. The TSA site specifically says that razor blades and straight razors are not allowed with carry-on luggage.

What seems to be causing your problems?

I have never - not once - been stopped by TSA for my liquids bag.

Outside my 3,1,1 bag I carry:

Brush: http://amzn.to/1aB74FA
Deodorant: http://amzn.to/16o7u6m

Q-tips in a travel container
Kent MG3 military hairbrush
And then in a freezer quart Ziplok bag:
Ogallala Bay Rum in the 2 ounce Sample Bottle, (type depends on my mood)
Witch Hazel in a 3 ounce plastic bottle labeled with a T.N. Dickenson W.H. label cut down to fit
Cool Mint mouthwash in a 3 ounce plastic bottle.

If I'm checking a bag, I'll have an additional leather Dopp kit with DE razor and blades and one of my other brushes as well. Also a larger selection of aftershaves.

On the rare occasions I fly, I carry a Schick Hydro. Yeah, it's got that gooey strip on it but the blades are sharp and smooth.

It is not worth your trouble to be tricky. Observe the rules at the TSA website.

Agreed. While I don't think the TSA does much of anything at all to enhance our security they are the ones in the power position. We are the cattle. And people like Miss Alabama think it's good. (Ok, she was addressing NSA, not TSA. But they're both invasive.)

When I was a child there was a regular retort, "it's a free country ain't it?" Not only do you never hear that any more, just the concept that you have a right of choice is becoming foreign.

Refusing to play along is difficult.

I'm aware of that, I just like the travel sizes!:001_cool:

Yep - they can come in especially handy sometimes.

I had an overnight trip recently when one flight was on a very small plane with a 4kg (8.8lbs) carry-on baggage limit. I managed to get my computer (Lenovo X220), some papers and my change of clothes and toiletries into my Tom Bihn Tristar bag and fit within that limit - 3.67kgs actually .....

+1 on the check your bag. To me its worth the extra few minutes for me to have my shave gear with me. :thumbup1:

Not to point out the obvious, but this doesn't really solve the OP's dilemma. He specifically mentioned carry-on in case his "checked luggage got lost or [he got] stuck someplace".

I traveled to Mexico for a week and we did carry on. So much quicker and easier.

My 3-1-1:
- Conditioning Cleanser
- Pomade
- Toothpaste
- CO Bigelow Cream
- Aloe Vera/Sunscreen (summer) or lotion (winter)

My Dopp Kit:
- Gillette Sensor Excel
- Shave Brush (in a pill bottle with holes drilled in the cap)
- Palmolive Stick
- Deodorant
- Shower Soap (if not staying at a hotel)
- Toothbrush
- Chapstick

I have been looking at my options and unless I get myself a private plane, My choices come down to a disposable razor or a cartrage razor, If I want a razor in my carry on with a blade.

My DE blades will go into my checked luggage.

As for playing along, we might have to look like we are playing along but you and I know we are just going threw the motions.

That's it.

Don't put anything in your checked luggage that you can't stand to lose. Maybe you already know, but if it is something that can be pawned or sold then it will get stolen, eventually, if it isn't lost first. And TSA approved locks are not secure.
