Trumpers Skin Food Alternative

Hey guys, can you recommend me an alternative to Trumpers skin food? I really like the consistency and benefits, but I just cant take the smell. I ordered the sample and its not for me. The lime smell, in my opinion, is reminiscent of the detergent they use to wash supermarket floors. The rose...well...not my cup of tea either. Their colognes are just downright obnoxious, in my opinion. I would like something fresh and clean, such as the EJ seabuckthorn smell.

Thanks!

Did you try Trumper's Sandalwood? I agree with you on the lime. Don't know Rose but trust your opinion. IMO, Sandalwood has a clean smell. I don't know about your skin, but on mine, any of Trumper's products start losing their smell after 5 minutes...at the end, it doesn't matter so long as the skin feels good :thumbup1:.

I haven't tried any other skin foods, but as far as balms, TH has a nice selection too.

I suggest you take a long look at Saint Charles Shave's line of aftershaves, milks and balms.
Spend less and get more in more ways than one IMO.

Every Man Jack has a line of gels that work similarly. I know many of the gents here like the cedarwood, and I personally use the mint. And definitely check out the Sandalwood Skin food. I thought the limes was pretty nice comparative to T&H which smelled to me like Pledge.

I haven't found anything quite like Trumper's skin foods. That doesn't mean there isn't anything as good or better out there, just not quite the same. A few options for alternatives, just off the top of my head, mentioned more for performance than scent:

- Nancy Boy's cooling aftershave gel - some similar ingredients to the skin food, but is definitely more "gel like"; I haven't tried the cucumber version

- Castle Forbes aftershave balm - a unique balm that is sort of like a skin food on steroids, although saying that may be paying it a disservice

- Jack Black aftershave gel - kind of a Nancy Boy clone, but is different enough; again, very "gel like"

- D.R. Harris Pink - a splash, but very mild and moisturizing; however, it is rose scented, so is maybe not your cup of tea

- Musgo aftershave splash - very strongly scented, but with all those buffer ingredients in there, it conditions the skin on a par with skin food, or maybe even better

- Lucido aftershave splash - low alcohol, quite moisturizing, totally unscented except for a little menthol, and very affordable
