Trumpers Coconut

Do you guys really love Trumpers Coconut Cream? Really? I guess I just don't get it. Yes the lather seems thick and rich but totally lacks substance for me. No slickness at all. And far less cushion than it would seem. Fantastic smell and I want to love it. But I don't. Am I crazy?

Interesting thread. I've been thinking about getting some of Trumper's coconut, and was curious what everyone thought about it.

For me, the moisturizing, slickness and cushion of GFT Coconut are all excellent.
And I love the scent!

Before you sell it off or bury it in your cabinet, try making a batch of lather using more water than you think it needs.
It seems like a 'thirsty' cream to me, taking more water than I think it needs before it gets shiny with peaks.

Performancewise, it's one of the best creams I've tried. The scent is nothing to write home about.

I totally agree.
Trumpers Coconut Oil is a premium quality shaving cream.
A truly wonderful product for a first class shave!

+1 more water.

It is amazing to work with, the "problem" or what makes it so good is it will work in almost any condition, you can put hordes of water in it you can have it very dry and the results are still great. If I had to travel in uncertain circumstances it would defiantly be my choice to pack; hell I bet it would lather great if the only thing you could find to mix in, are the left overs of the other nights beer cans.

The Coconut Oil cream seems like the base for Trumpers creams, I have the Limes and Coconut Oil and well the limes ingredients are the same as coconut just with some extras added in.

I would be interested to know if that is the same for all of there creams, if they are just the Coconut Oil base with extra ingredients?

The base is the same for all Trumper creams. The only differences are in scent and coloring. Ironically, there isn't actually any coconut oil in the "Coconut Oil" cream; rather, Trumper/Creightons uses the more highly refined coconut acid common to all their creams. Regardless of what they call it or what's in it, though, I think the cream is excellent.

Which is better the soap or the cream? I'm talking in terms of moisterizing and smoothness of shave.

The answer is inherently subjective. In my opinion, the cream is better in terms of the qualities you've mentioned, but there will no doubt be others who say the soap is better.

I am going to jump in with the LT. here. This was the very first English cream I ever bought and the last three years have done nothing to change my initial love for this stuff. The soap is also good, but the cream is amazing stuff. It is pretty much what I judge everything else against.

The cream good stuff - I've only got a couple of shaves left in my tub and I'll be replacing it. Don't skip on the amount of product you use. I use about half a teaspoon or more every time I use it and get great results. My brushes are all 22-23mm...

I'd dying to try this cream!! Ordered my sample pack the other day, still waiting on it to come in!! Hurry up postal workers! haha, yeah right.. :(
