I really dig these old shaving "jars" and think they look great as part of one's den, especially next to to a vintage DE or straight, not so sure I'd give up $103.00 though. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but wasn't Trumpers selling these as a promotion just a few years back if I recall. Perhaps it is an original but I'm skeptical. I'd like to have one but...
I've got two of the old authentic Roger and Gallet jars, pics below of both the Trumper repro jar and the RG jar. Seems like if I were to spend over $100, I'd want an authenic jar but YMMV. Hard to believe back in the day they actually packaged soaps and creams in such heavy porcelain/ceramic jars, definitely a day gone by. I'd be interested to see any other pics any of y'all might have of these classic shaving jars. I've seen pics of some that were very ornate in their decoration. V/R
